ABOUT ME

I began my education at Marywood University, graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1998 and a Master of Social Work degree in 2000.  I obtained both Social Work and Clinical Social Work Licenses in 2000 and 2009 respectively.  I received advanced training in 2003 at the New England Adolescent Research Institute, Inc.  Currently, I am pursuing additional training in mindfulness and meditation.

Over the years, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings including:  home, school, outpatient, community and residential treatment facilities providing individual, group and family therapy.  I have also collaborated, managed and helped implement community and school based behavioral health services through the managed care insurance division.

I encourage an integrated approach to one's overall health and wellness.  I am a proponent of exploring and utilizing healthy outlets to augment the benefits of traditional therapy.

ABOUT THERAPY

My therapeutic philosophy combines both strength-based and recovery focused models.   During therapy sessions, I utilize cognitive behavioral and positive psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding and encourage the development of new habits.  Exploring behavioral patterns, modifying thoughts and behaviors as well as addressing feelings of sadness, fear and pain can bring about life-altering results.  I encourage the development of one's own self care plan as a means to maintain both emotional and physical health and well-being.
